With Bartin University's (BARÜ) project supported by TÜBİTAK, high-performance energy storage systems will be developed using methods developed and environmentally friendly next-generation solvents.

Studies are continuing at Bartin University (BARÜ) on obtaining renewable energy through waste management and environmentally friendly practices. In this context, the project prepared for the purpose of storing renewable energy, led by Prof. Dr. Ayben Kılıç Pekgözlü from the Department of Forest Industrial Engineering at the Faculty of Forestry, has been deemed eligible for support under the 2515 - COST Action Members R&D Support Program.

The project titled 'Supercapacitor Production from Industrial Waste with Green Chemicals' will focus on obtaining high-value chemicals from low-cost, abundantly available plant-based materials and investigating the use of these chemicals in energy storage systems. The study will utilize next-generation solvents and modern methods. The project will involve contributions from researchers, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sezgin Koray Gülsoy and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rıfat Kurt from the Department of Forest Industrial Engineering, and Dr. Hamza Dünya, a faculty member from the Faculty of Science.
