Bartın University (BARU) has been ranked 455th in the world and 2nd in Turkey in the 'Research Quality' category of the Times Higher Education (THE) 2025 World University Rankings. BARU also became the 13th best university in Turkey by maintaining its position in the 1001-1200 band in the general ranking.

In a recent announcement at the Opening Ceremony of the 2024-2025 Academic Year by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Bartın University was awarded the "Contribution to Local Development Award." Following this, BARÜ has achieved another success, continuing its sustainable accomplishments by being listed among the world's best universities. In this context, one of the world's most recognized higher education ranking organizations, Times Higher Education (THE), released the "World University Rankings 2025," based on data from 2,092 universities that have reached certain international standards. In this ranking, which evaluates universities based on five fundamental academic criteria, BARÜ has positioned itself among the most successful higher education institutions globally.

BARÜ Becomes the Best State University in Turkey for "Research Quality"

Despite the increasing number of universities evaluated each year, BARÜ has successfully maintained its ranking within the 1001-1200 band due to its strong performance. In the "Research Quality" category, BARÜ placed 455th among the top 500 universities worldwide, surpassing 108 universities compared to last year’s inaugural appearance in the 2024 list. In Turkey, BARÜ ranked 2nd in "Research Quality," securing the top spot among state universities.

Based on the performance over the past five years, BARÜ ranked 13th among 91 higher education institutions from Turkey that made it to the rankings, according to evaluations in the categories of education, research environment, research quality, industry, and international visibility. Thus, BARÜ continued to increase both its overall score range and the number of universities it surpassed in this competitive list.

BARÜ Increased Scores in Four of the Five Categories

According to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025, BARÜ ranked 455th in "Research Quality," 1206th in "Research Environment," and 1392nd in "International Visibility." Additionally, BARÜ ranked 1996th in the "Industry" category and 2054th in "Teaching." This achievement indicates that BARÜ increased its scores in all four assessed areas compared to the previous year, marking a significant accomplishment.
