A project by Bartın University (BARU) under the TÜBİTAK-ARDEB 1001 program will develop new methods to counter potential risks in the field of cybersecurity, ensuring better protection of data.

The project, led by Assoc. Prof. Ersin Alaybeyoğlu from BARU’s Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, has been awarded support under the “1001–Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program” conducted by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye’s (TÜBİTAK) Research Support Programs Directorate (ARDEB).

Developed under the consultancy of Prof. Dr. Erkay Savaş from Sabancı University, the project titled “Accelerated Homomorphic Encryption-Based Security of IoT Data: A Federated Learning Application” will create effective protection methods in the field of data privacy and security. New encryption processes will be implemented to address potential personal data protection risks posed by quantum computers and the Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Two doctoral students will also contribute to the research efforts.
