BARÜ students become finalists in the “Technology Leaders of Tomorrow Competition”

With their innovative project, Bartın University (BARÜ) students succeeded in becoming finalists among 800 teams in the "Technology Leaders of Tomorrow Competition" organized by Turkcell.

Students from the Bartın University (BARÜ) Faculty of Science, Department of Computer Technology and Information Systems participated in the project competition organized by Turkcell to direct young people toward technology and reveal their potential. In the “Technology Leaders of Tomorrow Competition,” BARÜ students Oğuzhan Demirbaş, Mert Can Aydın, and Engin Tekşut achieved significant success. With their project named “SecureNest,” the BARÜ team qualified as finalists among 800 teams. Aiming to contribute to the field of digital security, the project focuses particularly on preventing phishing and fraud attempts to increase user safety.

In the finals of “Technology Leaders of Tomorrow,” which is the most comprehensive project competition for university students, projects will be presented on May 8 to a jury consisting of experts in the field. The jury members include Turkcell General Manager Dr. Ali Taha Koç, Deputy General Manager for Human and Business Support Erkan Durdu, Deputy General Manager for Marketing and Digital Services Murat Akgüç, TÜBİTAK Vice President Prof. Dr. Mesut Güner, Independent Engineering Consultant Cemal Şeref Oğuzhan Öztürk, Tazi AI Co-Founder and General Manager Prof. Dr. Zehra Çataltepe, and Harvard Business Review Türkiye Editor-in-Chief Serdar Turan.

BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya congratulated the finalist students and stated that they will continue to support works by young people that contribute to scientific and technological developments.
