BARU crowned its quality processes with “Institutional Accreditation”

Bartın University (BARÜ) was entitled to be accredited for 2 years within the scope of the Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP) implemented by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK).
 
Bartın University (BARÜ) was entitled to receive “Conditional Accreditation” for 2 years as a result of the work carried out within the scope of the Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP), one of the important elements of the quality assurance of the higher education system. The 'YÖKAK Institutional Accreditation Certificate', which certifies the quality in education and training, was presented by the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) President Prof. Dr. By Ümit Kocabıçak, to  Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun, the BARÜ Rector.

BARÜ’s accreditation success

Rector Uzun and BARÜ Quality Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ümmühan Avcı attended the Institutional Accreditation Certificate delivery ceremony held at Itri Congress and Culture Center, hosted by Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University. Receiving the accreditation certificate, Rector Uzun stated that their success was crowned with the receipt of the “Institutional Accreditation Certificate” following the completion of the external evaluation process carried out within the scope of the “YÖKAK Institutional Accreditation Program.”
 
“Our current goal is to successfully complete the full accreditation processes.”

Rector Uzun said, “We have undertaken many studies to internalize quality and make it a corporate culture. We have always aimed for better by focusing on the concept of 'quality' with our dynamic and student-oriented management approach. We were entitled to receive institutional accreditation by successfully passing the accreditation examinations carried out under the leadership of YÖKAK. I believe that this document, which is the expression of quality processes at all stages of our work, will guide prospective students in choosing the right university. Our current goal will be to carry this success sustainably into the future and complete the 5-year full accreditation process.”

Rector Uzun also pointed out the importance of collaborative efforts in institutional progress and said, “We have made significant progress with great effort and dedication in quality processes over the years.

Rector Uzun said, “I wholeheartedly congratulate our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sevim Çelik, who contributed to our University's 2-year accreditation with her diligent work in this context, Quality Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Ümmühan Avcı and our valuable colleagues in our Quality Coordination Department. I would also like to thank all our stakeholders, including our academic and administrative human resources, students, alumni and advisory board members, for their efforts to make our University a respected member of the information society. I would like to express my gratitude to our YÖKAK President Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak for his supportive approaches and valuable incentives and YÖKAK Evaluation Team and board members throughout the process. In addition, I would like to express my gratitude to our President of YÖK, Prof. Dr. Mr. Erol Özvar and our YÖK members who supported us in the implementation of quality-oriented strategies and encouraged us to achieve better.”
 
BARÜ’s institutional accreditation process

YÖKAK Evaluation Team, which inspects universities for their compliance with international quality standards, carried out meticulous and comprehensive studies in BARÜ, both by conducting face-to-face field visits and by examining evidence documents and files remotely. The Evaluation Team visited each faculty and department one by one during field visits and held face-to-face meetings with internal and external stakeholders within the scope of Institutional External Evaluation and Accreditation Criteria.

As a result of the process where intensive work carried out in cooperation with all stakeholders was observed, BARÜ’s achievements in education-training, research-development, social contribution, leadership, governance and quality were registered with an accredited certificate for a period of 2 years.
