BARU continues its success in the URAP World Rankings

Bartın University (BARU) continued its rise in the world rankings announced by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Research Laboratory and rose 233 places in 3 years.

The University Ranking By Academic Performance (URAP) Research Laboratory, which operates within the Middle East Technical University (METU) Informatics Institute, announced the 2023-2024 World Rankings. URAP, whose main objective is to develop a ranking system for world universities based on academic performance determined by the quality and quantity of scientific publications, evaluated 3,662 higher education institutions worldwide.  According to the ranking, BARU, by showing a sustainable performance, rose 29 places this year and reached the 2,251st place. Rising 57 places in 2021 and 147 places in 2022, BARU has thus progressed 233 places in the last 3 years.

The URAP World Rankings, based on objective data collected from open and reliable information sources, ranked universities based on 6 different indicators.  According to the evaluation, the number of higher education institutions entering the URAP World Ranking List from Turkey increased by 39 this year and 157 universities were included in the ranking.

In the ranking announced by URAP, BARU ranked 65th this year, leaving 92 universities from Turkey behind. Despite the increasing number of higher education institutions, compared to the previous year, BARU rose 13 places to 52nd in Article Ranking, 10 places to 62nd in Citation Ranking, 6 places to 66th in Total Publication Impact Ranking and 5 places to 87th in Total Number of Documents Ranking. BARU ranked 83rd in the Total Citation Impact Ranking and 86th in the Collaboration Ranking.
