BARÜ contributes to the future of archaeological heritage with the Erasmus+ project

In the European Union (EU) supported project of Bartın University (BARU), the actions to be taken for the documentation and protection of cultural heritage with digital technologies were evaluated.
 
The second meeting of the European Union (EU) project titled “Modern Tools for Documenting and Presenting Cultural Heritage in Archaeology”, in which Bartın University (BARU) Faculty of Letters, Department of Information and Document Management and Department of Art History are partners, was hosted by BARU.
 
The program started with a session with project partners from Bulgaria, Croatia and North Macedonia. Gathering in the Faculty of Letters Meeting Hall, participants made presentations on their work on documenting cultural heritage and preserving it with digital technologies.
 
Following the meeting, a technical trip was made to the Tios Ancient City under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Şahin Yıldırım and Assist. Prof. Ali Bora from the BARÜ Art History Department, and various examinations were made.
 
The project, in which the Primorsko History Museum in Bulgaria is the executive body, together with BARÜ, Episkop Konstantin Preslavski University in Shumen in Bulgaria, Saints Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje in Macedonia, the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies in Croatia and the Bulgarian Computer Science Student Society are the stakeholders, will continue until August 31, 2026.
