BARÜ Contributes to Scientific Production with Its New Academic Journals

Bartın University (BARÜ) brings researchers’ scientific studies together with readers through 13 academic journals covering various fields of science.
Bartın University (BARÜ) continues to strengthen its publishing activities that support scientific production across different disciplines. In this regard, two new journals within BARÜ, the Journal of Women, Children and Family Studies (BARU-JWCFS) and the BARÜ Journal of Sports and Human, have begun publication. The first issue of the Journal of Women, Children and Family Studies has been published with the aim of bringing scientific studies on family and society to the academic community. Meanwhile, the BARÜ Journal of Sports and Human continues to accept articles presenting original and high-quality research conducted in various fields of sports sciences.
A New Academic Journal in the Field of Special Education to Be Established at BARÜ
Work on establishing a new journal focusing on scientific research and practices in the field of special education at BARÜ has also been completed. The BARÜ Senate decided to establish a new academic journal titled Journal of Special Education Research and Practice. The journal’s application to DergiPark has been accepted, while preparations for its publishing infrastructure are ongoing.
Bartın Faculty of Forestry Journal Qualifies for Indexing in DOAJ
Significant progress has also been made as part of BARÜ’s efforts to increase the visibility of its scientific journals in national and international indexes. The Bartın Faculty of Forestry Journal (BAROFD), which publishes original research in various fields of forestry and the forest industry, has been accepted for indexing by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), one of the leading international indexes for open-access academic journals.
BARÜ’s Scientific Publishing Network Continues to Expand
The journals published as part of BARÜ’s scientific publishing activities include the Journal of Intelligent Systems, BARÜ Journal of Sports and Human, Bartın Faculty of Forestry Journal, International Journal of Science, Journal of Educational Research, Bartın University Journal of Faculty of Education, Journal of Women, Children and Family Studies, Journal of the Faculty of Letters, Journal of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Journal of Management, Economics, Literature, Islamic and Political Sciences, İlahiyatname, and Çeşm-i Cihan: E-Journal of History, Culture and Art Research. The journals, which contribute original and high-quality research to the academic literature, can be accessed through the BARÜ DergiPark Publisher Page. Preparatory, application and evaluation processes are also underway to ensure that the journals are included in appropriate national and international indexes in accordance with their scope and publication standards.
Stating that efforts are being carried out to strengthen the publishing infrastructure of the journals within BARÜ, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya said, “As Bartın University, we consider contributing to the development of academic publishing and increasing the visibility of our journals at both national and international levels among our key priorities. In line with this approach, we are very pleased to see new academic journals addressing different disciplines begin their publication journey.
