National Wrestler from BARÜ, Burhan Akbudak, Wins Bronze at the European Championship

Burhan Akbudak, a graduate of the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Bartın University (BARÜ), won a bronze medal in the men’s 82 kg category at the European Wrestling Championships.

Students and alumni of the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Bartın University (BARÜ) continue to achieve success in international competitions. Most recently, at the 2025 European Wrestling Championships, held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, national wrestler Burhan Akbudak, representing Türkiye, secured the bronze medal in the Greco-Roman 82 kg category.

In the bronze medal match of the men’s Greco-Roman style, the national athlete triumphed over his Ukrainian opponent, Ruslan Abdiiev, with a score of 5-2, making Türkiye proud by securing third place in Europe.
