BARÜ Wrestler Alihan Bayraktar to Represent Türkiye at the Olympics

Alihan Bayraktar, a student at the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Bartın University (BARÜ), earned the right to represent Türkiye at the Olympics after winning a gold medal at the National Wrestling Championship for Hearing-Impaired Seniors.

The Rıza Keser Stars-Youth-Seniors Freestyle/Greco-Roman Wrestling Turkish Championship, organized by the Turkish Deaf Sports Federation, has concluded. Held in Sivas, the event saw Alihan Bayraktar, a student in the Coaching Education Department at BARÜ’s Faculty of Sport Sciences, claim the gold medal in the men’s 77 kg category, becoming the national champion.

With this major achievement in the Seniors category, the national wrestler from BARÜ has qualified to represent Türkiye at the 2025 Summer Deaflympics, which will be held in Tokyo.
