Ruins coming from 5000 years ago, were discovered in the area that was destroyed

In the area that was destroyed in Bartın, the ruins which are about Early Bronze Age approximately 5000 years ago were found at the end of archeological excavation carried out by Bartın University.

The works are still continuing in the framework of “Bartın and its Counties Surface Research Project” directed by Bartın University the Assistant Professor in The Faculty of Letters, the assistant manager of Archeology Application and Research System Associate Professor Fatma Bağdatlı Çam. It started in 2017 and lighted on the history of region with various Associate Professors from 7 different universities and experts from Culture and Tourism Ministry. From the framework of these researches, cultural remnants that are found in the center of Bartın and counties in Kure Mountains National Park show the history of Bartın lying until 5000 years ago.
Bağdatlı Çam, who gives some information about archeological works, got excited with the new results in the border of Bartın in 2021.

While Bağdatlı Çam was unhappily expressing some working areas which were destroyed, she said: “In 2021 we found significant findings in the damaged mound by illegal excavation. Here the examples of soil ceramics that are related to Early Bronze Age (approximately 5000 years ago) prove its historical importance. This settlement, located near the center of Bartın, indicates that the settlement of Bartın lies back 5000 years ago.”
