National athletes from BARÜ became world champions with 5 medals

National athletes who graduated from Bartın University (BARÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences made us proud by winning 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals at the 9th World Kung Fu Championship.

Elif Akyüz and Zeynep Makbule Akyüz, graduates of Bartın University (BARÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences, achieved a significant success at the 9th World Kung Fu Championship held in China. Elif Akyüz, one of the star and crescent athletes, became the world champion by winning gold medals in the Chaquan and Jiti categories. Zeynep Makbule Akyüz managed to receive a gold medal in the Jiti category, a silver medal in the Shaolingun category and a bronze medal in the Bagua category. In the organization held in Emeishan city of China, the Wushu National Team, with the contributions of BARÜ athletes, completed the championship on the top step of the podium.

Gençlik ve Spor Bakanı Osman Aşkın Bak, yayımladığı mesajında Çin’de gerçekleştirilen şampiyonada 14’ü altın, 7’si gümüş ve 4’ü bronz olmak üzere 25 madalya kazanan aralarında BARÜ’lü milli sporcuların da olduğu Wushu Milli Takımını tebrik etti.
