Five national athletes from BARÜ will represent Turkey at the 2024 Paris Olympics

Five national athletes from Bartın University (BARÜ) will represent Turkey in wrestling and weightlifting at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The countdown for the 2024 Paris Olympics has begun at Bartın University (BARÜ). To date, BARÜ’s national athletes, who have won 97 medals, including 30 first-place finishes in World, European, and Balkan championships, have now set their sights on the Olympics, which will be held in France from July 26 to August 11. So far, five national athletes from BARÜ have qualified to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where a total of 78 athletes from Turkey have secured spots.

Four BARÜ athletes in wrestling and one in weightlifting will compete for Turkey

According to the confirmed results, BARÜ students Evin Demirhan Yavuz, Zeynep Yetgil, and special student Muhammed Furkan Özbek, as well as alumni Burhan Akbudak and Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu, will be part of the Turkish team consisting of 78 athletes across 15 sports. In the Olympic Games, where athletes from 206 countries will compete in 329 events, Evin, Zeynep, Burhan, and Buse will represent Turkey in wrestling, while Muhammed will compete in weightlifting.
