BARU Provides Climate Change Education to Students from 16 Universities

Bartın University (BARÜ), through its TÜBİTAK-supported project, is offering training on “Climate Change and Resilient Cities” to students from 16 different universities.

The educational program, part of the “Green Infrastructure Design for Climate Change and Resilient Cities” project led by Associate Professor Dr. Mustafa Artar of the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design’s Department of Landscape Architecture, was officially inaugurated. The project, which secured support from TÜBİTAK, aims to equip students with the knowledge needed to design urban environments that can withstand the impacts of climate change.

Held in Amasra, the event brought together both undergraduate and graduate landscape architecture students from 16 higher education institutions. In his opening remarks, BARU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zahmakıran stated that the initiative is intended to raise awareness among students about the risks posed by climate change and to promote the development of resilient urban infrastructures.
