Bartın University (BARU), recognized as having one of the world's greenest campuses by Green Metric, is currently engaged in Sustainable Campus practices by planting new trees ranging up to 6 meters in height.

As part of its Green Campus initiative, the university has implemented various innovations and first-of-its-kind programs. Kutlubey Campus, home to numerous plant species, is experiencing a significant increase in its biological diversity through the planting of thousands of new trees, including adult trees ranging in height from 3 to 6 meters.

Green areas in BARU are maintained and updated according to the season, with a recent planting of 5,277 saplings that include various species such as maple, juniper, berberis, plane tree, laurel, ash, stone pine, linden, beech, chestnut, mimosa, palm, and cedar over a five-month period. Existing trees underwent maintenance and renovation to allow them to thrive. As part of this process, dried branches were meticulously removed. Currently, planting has begun for adult trees, such as western plane tree, pink flowering ash, mimosa, tulip tree, cedar, and magnolia, which have been brought in as 250 potted seedlings.
