Bartın University (BARÜ) has been granted the "Certificate of Outstanding Achievement" by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources for its energy efficiency policies implemented between 2019 and 2023.

BARÜ has achieved remarkable success in surpassing the minimum 15% energy savings target set for public buildings in the Presidential decree dated August 18, 2019. With its efforts to enhance energy efficiency in line with climate change mitigation goals and national energy policies, BARÜ has been recognized as a model institution by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. As a result, the "Certificate of Outstanding Achievement in Building Energy Efficiency" was awarded to BARÜ’s Ağdacı Campus. Signed by Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, the certificate acknowledges BARÜ’s contributions to Turkey’s energy efficiency goals.

BARÜ continues to expand its sustainability initiatives and is now preparing to install a Solar Energy Plant (GES) over designated parking areas at the Kutlubey Campus, aiming to meet all or a significant portion of its electricity consumption through renewable energy sources.
