BARÜ 7th International R&D Project Fair A Day is more than 24 hours

The 7th International R&D Project Fair at Bartın University (BARÜ) was successfully completed with the active participation of 46 Scientific Board members, 38 referees, 4 evaluators, and 183 staff from various units, as well as 32 students involved in organizational processes.
Organized by Bartın University since 2017 with extensive participation, the R&D Project Fair broke a record in applications this year. Held at the BARÜ Kutlubey Campus on November 7-8, the festival hosted researchers from nine different countries and 35 provinces of Turkey. The event was co-organized with Hazar University and Azerbaijan Technical University from Azerbaijan, International Sarajevo University from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Putra University from Malaysia, and Samarkand State Architecture and Construction University from Uzbekistan. It was attended by more than 15,000 visitors.
9 Countries, 35 Provinces, 47 Universities, 30 High Schools, 10 R&D Centers
The application process for the BARÜ 7th International R&D Project Fair was completed, and preliminary evaluation results were announced. For the first time, competitions were organized on an international scale, receiving project applications from Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iran, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, and Uzbekistan, alongside Turkey. Researchers from 35 provinces in Turkey, representing 47 universities, 30 high schools, and 10 organizations and R&D centers, submitted a total of 403 projects.
Projects Underwent Rigorous Evaluation Through an Intensive Program
In the project fair focused on BARÜ's specialization area of "Smart Logistics and Integrated Regional Applications," projects in 13 different themes were evaluated by the Scientific Board comprising expert academics, industry professionals, and representatives from civil society organizations.
The projects that passed the preliminary stage were independently scored through a synchronized plan involving online and face-to-face interviews. The evaluations were based on criteria such as originality, innovation, commercialization potential, market prospects, widespread impact, social and environmental benefits, and team qualifications. Over two days, 30 referees conducted face-to-face interviews in eight separate groups, while projects from abroad were assessed through online interviews lasting a total of 480 minutes with eight referees.
A total of 88 people, including 46 Scientific Board members and 4 evaluators, participated in the project evaluation processes. As a result of the meticulous evaluations, grants of various amounts were awarded in the High School and Main Categories.
8 Technical Presentations, 3 Ceremonies, and Dozens of Events Completed in Two Days
The festival, which progressed through an intensive two-day program, was prepared months in advance. Meetings led by BARÜ Vice Rector and Organizing Committee Chair Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zahmakıran outlined plans under the coordination of the Project and Technology Office.
The organization actively involved 183 staff and 32 students from academic and administrative units. Participants ensured the competitions were completed smoothly. Over the two days, thousands of people attended eight technical presentations and three ceremonies in the event halls. While project promotions continued in the exhibition area, dozens of shows were performed at various stands. The lively events allowed participants to both learn and enjoy themselves.
Attracted Significant Attention in Visual, Print, and Digital Media
The BARÜ 7th International R&D Project Fair events were broadcast live seven times by the Communication Coordination Office and the IT Department, reaching science and technology enthusiasts. The eight technical presentations and three ceremonies, streamed live, garnered thousands of views on BARÜ's social media accounts.
Additionally, the science and technology festival was closely followed by press representatives. The event, which featured participants from nine different countries, was covered in 21 television broadcasts and nearly 200 news articles in print and digital media throughout the festival.
