The number of programs at Bartın University (BARU) that have been approved for quality assurance and granted the Türkiye Qualifications Framework (TQF) logo has increased to 10, making them eligible to be included in the Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide.

The number of programs at Bartın University (BARU) included in the Türkiye Qualifications Framework (TQF) database, approved by the Türkiye Qualifications Framework Board, has risen to 10. Thus, the quality assurance of the learning outcomes of programs within the TQF framework has been confirmed.

In the newly published list, the programs “Philosophy,” “History,” and “Turkish Language and Literature” from BARU’s Faculty of Letters, and “Science Education” and “Art Education” from the Faculty of Education, were included. Previously, programs such as “Elementary Mathematics Education (2023),” “Primary School Teaching (2023),” “Social Studies Education (2023),” and “Turkish Education (2021)” from the Faculty of Education, as well as “Molecular Biology and Genetics (2023)” from the Faculty of Science, were added to the database.

TQF Logo to Be Featured in the Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide for the First Time

For the first time this year, programs with the TQF logo will be included in the Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide. According to an announcement by the Council of Higher Education, the guide will feature undergraduate and associate degree programs from 109 universities, including BARU, with the Türkiye Qualifications Framework (TQF) logo being used for the first time. This will increase the visibility of programs with approved quality assurance, providing an important factor for students to consider in their decision-making process when selecting a university.

TQF Logo to Be Printed on Diplomas, Easing International Recognition

Programs with the TQF logo offer significant opportunities for students. As part of CHE's efforts to align with the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), higher education programs that meet the necessary requirements have been granted the right to use the TQF logo on graduation certificates since December 23, 2021. The presence of the TQF logo on diplomas allows graduates' diplomas to be more quickly recognized abroad, enhancing their employment opportunities. Additionally, the TQF logo facilitates the mutual recognition of qualifications gained during internships and study periods abroad, simplifying both horizontal and vertical student mobility.

Programs Certified After a Rigorous Evaluation Process

For the TQF logo to be used on higher education graduation certificates, the program must first be accredited by accreditation organizations authorized or recognized by the Higher Education Quality Board, the program's qualifications form must be compatible with the relevant qualification type, and the qualification must be listed in the Türkiye Qualifications Database managed by the Vocational Qualifications Authority (MYK).

Higher education programs accredited by accreditation organizations authorized by YÖKAK are submitted to the MYK for evaluation by the Council of Higher Education, after which the Türkiye Qualifications Framework Board reviews them. Programs deemed appropriate by the board are granted the right to use the TYÇ logo on graduation certificates.
