Yayın Tarihi : 05/10/2023
At Bartın University (BARÜ), a project supported by TÜBİTAK is investigating the electrical potential generated in wood under pressure.

Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Deniz Aydemir, a faculty member of the Bartın University Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Industrial Engineering, and conducted by Zeynep Eda Özan, a doctoral student at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, the project was deemed worthy of support under the TÜBİTAK 1002-B Urgent Support Program. In collaboration with Prof. Dr. Gökhan Gündüz, a faculty member at the İskenderun Technical University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the project is examining the electrical potential of different types of wood under pressure.

Özan, discussing the project titled 'Determining the Electrical Potential Difference in Wooden Material,' mentioned that the potential for generating electricity from renewable sources could be possible with the identification of the piezoelectric effect.
