BARÜ has started to operate in the region for pregnant and puerperal women affected by the earthquake

Five lecturers from Bartın University (BARU) went to the region to help pregnant and puerperal women affected by the earthquake and assessed their health status.

Working at Bartın University at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Hacer Yıldız's project entitled "Determination of Psychosocial Health Status in Pregnant and Puerperal Women Experiencing an Earthquake" was accepted. Dr. The project named “Determination of Psychosocial Health Status in Pregnant and Puerperal Pregnant Women Experiencing an Earthquake”, which Hacer Yalnız Dilcen is the coordinator of, was accepted. Together with Dilcen within the scope of TUBITAK's “1002-C Field Work Focused on Natural Disasters Emergency Support Project”. Academicians from Bartın University, Yeliz Çakır Koçak, Hanifi Dülger, Güleser Ada, and Feyza Demir Bozkurt carried out investigations in the Elbistan and Afşin districts of Kahramanmaraş.

The team investigating the effects of the earthquake on the mental health of pregnant and puerperal women in tent cities attempted to prepare prospective plans by performing face-to-face interviews. The team also delivered the aids prepared in order to meet the needs of mothers and babies. The team was also assisted by two support staff in the coordination processes.
