With the project of Bartın University (BARU) supported by TÜBİTAK, the causes of air pollution in indoor environments will be investigated and solutions will be offered to improve air quality.

The project, led by Bartın University (BARU) Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design, Department of Environmental Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülten Güneş was found worthy of support within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Program. With the project titled "Investigation of Indoor Air Microbiological Pollution in Common Areas", various research will be carried out on the causes of air pollution in indoor environments. BARU Faculty of Literature, Department of Information and Document Management Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huriye Çolaklar will also contribute as a researcher and it is aimed to provide solutions to improve indoor air quality.

Noting that they will be able to obtain important outputs for determining the factors that cause the deterioration of air quality in indoor spaces, Güneş said, "Within the scope of the research we will carry out on the factors causing air pollution in different indoor environments, we will use different microbiological sampling methods. With these methods, we will investigate the change in microbiological pollution affecting air quality and human health in different indoor environments. In the 12-month-long studies, we will also measure other air quality parameters in the gas and particulate phase and evaluate their effects on indoor air quality. We will try to develop solutions to improve air quality with the data to be obtained as a result of microbiological analyses."
