11 Academics from Bartın University Featured in the 'World's Most Influential Scientists' List

Each year, Stanford University compiles a list of the world's most influential scientists, and this year 11 individuals from Bartın University (BARÜ) have successfully made it to the list.

The list, which ranks the world's most influential scientists annually by Stanford University, was published by Elsevier, a publishing company based in the Netherlands. In this ranking, which is based on criteria such as the scientific productivity and quality of the work of academics, over 200,000 names were evaluated worldwide.

In the Times Higher Education (THE) 2024 World University Rankings, under the 'Research Quality' category, BARÜ ranked 563rd globally and 2nd in Turkey. The university managed to increase its presence on the 'World's Most Influential Scientists' list this year with 11 individuals. In 2020, it had 2, in 2021 it had 6, and in 2022 it had 8 individuals on the list.

The published list includes Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zahmakıran, Prof. Dr. Murat Rakap, Prof. Dr. Şuayip Yüzbaşı, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrah Altun, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Parham Taslimi, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramazan Yılmaz, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Ceylan from BARÜ’s Faculty of Science; while Prof. Dr. Osman Gençel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Cahit Karaoğlanlı, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azmi Erdoğan, and Dr. Lecturer Shashanka Rajendrachari from the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design are also listed."
