Bartın University receives its 49th award for “Accessible Access”

Bartın University (BARÜ) increased its total number of awards to 49 by receiving 8 flags and one badge at the "2024 Barrier-Free Universities Awards" ceremony organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

The universities recognized for their efforts this year were announced at the "2024 Barrier-Free Universities Award Ceremony" held at the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). During the ceremony, where awards were presented to 76 universities by YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, Bartın University (BARÜ) won 3 Orange Flags in the category of Accessibility in Physical Spaces, 2 Green Flags in Accessibility in Education, and 3 Blue Flags in Accessibility in Socio-Cultural Activities.

8 flags and one badge awarded in 2024

In the Accessibility in Physical Spaces category, BARÜ’s Bartın Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Sport Sciences, and School of Foreign Languages won the Orange Flag. In the Accessibility in Education category, the Graduate School of Education and the School of Foreign Languages received the Green Flag. In the Accessibility in Socio-Cultural Activities category, the Bartın Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture, and Design, and School of Foreign Languages earned the Blue Flag. Additionally, the Turkish Language Teaching Program at the Faculty of Education was awarded the “Barrier-Free Program Badge” for adaptations made for visually impaired students.
