“Year of the Family” Event by BARÜ: Families Gather in Nature

At the event organized by Bartın University (BARÜ) within the scope of the “Year of the Family,” families enjoyed spending time together while experiencing nature.
Bartın University (BARÜ) continues its activities in collaboration with various institutions as part of its “Year of the Family” initiatives. Most recently, an event was organized under the coordination of the BARÜ Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center, in cooperation with the BARÜ Child Education Application and Research Center, BARÜ Department of Personnel Affairs, Bartın Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate, and Bartın Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services.
At the “In the Forest with My Family” event held in Balamba Nature Park, children and their parents created various artworks using materials collected from the forest. Under the coordination of volunteer Decorative Handicrafts Instructor Ezgi Gençoğlu, families worked on canvases using materials such as stones, soil, and leaves, enjoying both the creative process and time spent together in nature.
Dr. Yeliz Çakır Koçak, Director of the Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center, stated that, as 2025 has been declared the “Year of the Family,” they aimed to bring children and families together in nature for an enjoyable experience. She also expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to the organization of the event, especially BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya.
The event, which attracted significant interest, concluded with a photo session following the review of the participants’ works.
