At Bartın University (BARÜ), different methods will be implemented as part of the TÜBİTAK 2515 - COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) project to mitigate the adverse effects of drought stress on plants.

The project, led by Dr. Yusuf Ceylan from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics in the Faculty of Science at Bartın University (BARÜ), has received support through the TÜBİTAK 2515 - COST Action Members R&D Support Program. Titled “Digitalis lanata Ehrh.: Investigation of the Effects of Drought Stress, Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) Inoculation, and Drought-AMF Inoculation on Cardiac Glycoside Biosynthesis,” the project will examine the Digitalis (foxglove) plant.

The project, which involves Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dursun Kısa and Dr. Kevser Betül Ceylan from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şahin Palta from the Department of Forest Engineering at the Faculty of Forestry, will conduct studies aimed at enhancing the drought resistance of the foxglove plant. This initiative will utilize innovative and comprehensive methods, with the participation of two graduate students who will contribute as scholarship recipients.
