Yayın Tarihi : 24/07/2024
With a project supported by TÜBİTAK, Bartın University (BARÜ) will investigate the effects of physical and psychological factors, which vary according to miners' working conditions, on brain signals.

Continuing its contributions to the region by addressing its societal structure, BARÜ initiated the project titled "Maden İşçilerinde Çalışma Koşullarına Bağlı Olarak Gerçekleşen Yapısal ve Fonksiyonel Bozulmanın Manyetik Rezonans Görüntüleme Yöntemleri ile Araştırılması" (Investigating Structural and Functional Impairment in Miners Due to Working Conditions Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging Methods) under the leadership of Dr. Samet Çelik from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology. The project was deemed worthy of support under TÜBİTAK's 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program.

Over the next three years, the project will study the impact of environmental stressors on miners' brain networks. It will be supported by Prof. Dr. Orhan Murat Koçak from Başkent University’s Faculty of Medicine as a consultant and Prof. Dr. Oktay Algın from Ankara University’s Faculty of Medicine as a researcher.
