TÜBİTAK Supports BARÜ Project in the Field of Sustainable Energy
23 Mart 2026
With a project supported by TÜBİTAK, Bartın University (BARÜ) will contribute to the field of sustainable energy through the production of environmentally friendly hybrid nanomaterials.
Bartın University (BARÜ) continues its innovative and sustainable scientific research efforts. In this context, a project prepared by Dr. Zeynep Eda Özan, a postdoctoral researcher at BARÜ, has been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Module. Titled “Optimization of Piezoelectric Performance in PVDF-Based Hybrid CNC-CNF Composites via Full Factorial Design,” the project aims to deliver innovative contributions in the field of sustainable energy resources.
Within the scope of the project, a hybrid composite structure will be developed by combining the piezoelectric polymer PVDF—which can convert mechanical energy into electrical energy—with cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) and nanofibers (CNF). This structure is expected to enable the production of next-generation materials for both environmentally friendly and high-performance sensor technologies. The project, which will also contribute to fields such as smart materials and advanced composite systems, includes Prof. Dr. Deniz Aydemir and Prof. Dr. Rıfat Kurt from the Department of Forest Industrial Engineering at the Bartın Faculty of Forestry, as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Borazan from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Bursa Technical University, as researchers.
Emphasizing that BARÜ continues to produce projects contributing to sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya congratulated Dr. Zeynep Eda Özan and her research team for receiving TÜBİTAK support and wished them continued success.
