The project that will contribute to sustainable forest management and ecosystem is being realised

With the project of our university accepted within the scope of TÜBİTAK, it is aimed to contribute to the sustainable forest management and ecosystem with the studies to be carried out in the pure beech forest in the Kumluca District of Bartın.

The project named “Investigation of the Effects of Different Thinning Applications in Pure Eastern Beech (Fagus Orientalis Lipsky) Natural Forests on Soil Properties and Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungus (AMF) Populations,” which was carried out by Assoc. Prof. Şahin Palta from Forestry Engineering Department and for which Head of Forest Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Halil Barış Özel worked as a researcher, was entitled to be supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1002-Rapid Grant Program. The project became the second project of the same team to be supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1002-Fast Support Program in 2021.
