The “My Teacher Festival,” which has become a tradition at Bartın University (BARÜ), hosted a variety of social, cultural, and artistic activities.

Bartın University (BARÜ) Faculty of Education organized the “12th Traditional ‘My Teacher’ Festival” with the aim of strengthening the culture of unity, solidarity, and togetherness. The festival brought together hundreds of participants through a wide range of activities, including musical performances, quiz competitions, scientific experiments, and art workshops.

The opening program was held at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the Faculty of Education on the Kutlubey Campus. Speaking at the opening ceremony, BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya emphasized the dedication required in the teaching profession, stating: “Teachers never go to work; teachers go to school. Today, we celebrate the festival of a profession that understands the importance of raising generations who do not see teaching merely as a job, but as an art. Teaching is one of the most special professions that can only be carried out with love, patience, and devotion.”

As part of the program, the opening concert featuring Dr. Reha Sarıkaya, Research Assistant Dr. Ümit Koç from the Faculty of Education, and students Bilge Kartal and Efe Can Aslan received great appreciation from participants. The “The Answer Is with Us” quiz competition also allowed participants to both learn and have fun.

The program continued at the lake area with various activities for students, including the “I Have a Mark in the World” wheel game, scientific experiments, clay, marbling, watercolor, chenille, and acrylic art workshops, a vocational development workshop for individuals with special needs, charity sale, construction games, anime character drawing, and fractal activities. BARÜ student clubs also contributed by setting up booths offering games, competitions, and social activities for participants. In addition, balloons were released into the sky in honor of a child who had recovered from leukemia.

Filled with colorful moments, the “12th Traditional ‘My Teacher Festival’” concluded with activities that contributed to the social and personal development of students from various schools in Bartın.
