Significant success from BARÜ: Among the top 200 in the world in two fields

Bartın University (BARÜ) ranked among the top 200 globally and top 5 in Turkey in two areas of the Times Higher Education (THE) 2025 University Impact Rankings.

Times Higher Education (THE), one of the world's most respected academic ranking organizations, has announced the "University Impact Rankings for 2025." The overall ranking evaluated 2,526 institutions in line with the United Nations' (UN) goals that serve as a roadmap for sustainable development. Bartın University (BARU) achieved significant success by ranking in the 601-800 band. In the Turkish rankings, BARÜ ranked 19th.

BARÜ is in the top 200 in 2 areas

According to this list, in evaluations conducted under 17 subheadings, BARÜ ranked 97th globally in the "Responsible Production and Consumption" category in the 2025 Impact Rankings, ranking within the top 100. It also ranked 101-200th in the "Clean Water and Sanitation" category and 401-600th in the "Zero Hunger," "Reducing Inequalities," "Climate Action," and "Life Below Water" categories.

Additionally, BARÜ ranked in the 601-800 range in the categories of "Accessible and Clean Energy," "Life on Land," "No Poverty," and "Sustainable Cities and Communities." It also ranked in the 801-1000 range in the categories of "Health and Quality of Life," "Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure," and "Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions."
 
BARÜ ranked in the 1001-1500 range in the categories of "Quality Education," "Gender Equality," "Decent Work and Economic Growth," and "Partnerships for the Goals."

Ranked high among universities in Turkey

Ranked 19th among 108 Turkish institutions that qualified for the list, BARÜ continued its rise despite the increasing number of universities entering the rankings each year.
 
BARÜ ranked third in Turkey in the "Responsible Consumption and Production" category, fourth in "Clean Water and Sanitation," and 15th in "Climate Action." It also ranked high in the categories of "Reducing Inequalities," "Sustainable Cities and Communities," "Zero Hunger," "Zero Poverty," and "Life Below Water."
