Significant Rise for BARÜ in the “URAP Türkiye Rankings”

Bartın University (BARÜ) achieved a significant advancement in the 2025–2026 URAP Türkiye Rankings, announced by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Research Laboratory.

The University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Research Laboratory, operating under the Informatics Institute of Middle East Technical University (METU), published the 2025–2026 URAP Türkiye Rankings, which evaluate universities based on academic performance. In the list, which includes 198 universities from Türkiye this year, Bartın University (BARÜ) achieved a notable success by ranking 59th overall.

BARÜ climbed 14 places compared to last year

The 2025–2026 URAP Türkiye Rankings are based on a system that evaluates scientific productivity through articles and citations, considering both their quantity and quality. Assessments were conducted using 15 indicators. Demonstrating its academic productivity and research capacity once again, BARÜ improved its position across all evaluated categories. According to URAP data, BARÜ rose 14 places compared to the previous year, reaching 59th place overall. With this achievement, BARÜ surpassed 139 higher education institutions in the general ranking.

Among public universities, BARÜ climbed 9 positions compared to last year, ranking 48th. In the “Universities Without a Faculty of Medicine” ranking, BARÜ advanced 5 places to reach 14th. In the “Universities Established After 2000” ranking, BARÜ rose 6 places, placing 18th.

BARÜ increased its scores across evaluated criteria

BARÜ succeeded in increasing its scores in the ranking, which evaluates indicators including articles, citations, scientific documents, PhD performance, faculty member/student ratio, international collaboration, domestic collaboration, and TÜBİTAK project performance. In the URAP rankings, BARÜ placed 32nd in the Citation Score Ranking, 37th in the Article Score Ranking, 46th in the TÜBİTAK Project Score Ranking, and 47th in the International Collaboration Score Ranking. BARÜ ranked 55th in the Domestic Collaboration Score Ranking, 59th in the Scientific Document Score Ranking, 84th in the Faculty Member/Student Score Ranking, and 135th in the PhD Score Ranking.
