“BARÜ AI”, developed to enable Bartın University (BARÜ) staff to make safe and effective use of artificial intelligence in their academic and institutional activities, has been launched.
Bartın University (BARÜ) has introduced a new application for the use of artificial intelligence in education, research and institutional processes. In this context, “BARÜ AI” was developed within the BARÜ Digital Transformation Coordinator’s Office with the aim of enabling university staff to benefit from artificial intelligence technologies in a safe and sustainable manner for their academic and institutional needs. Developed in line with the ethical principles and guidelines of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) regarding the use of artificial intelligence, the institutional AI platform has also been made available on mobile devices.
AI Support for Academic and Institutional Activities
With “BARÜ AI”, staff can benefit from artificial intelligence support in their daily academic and administrative activities in areas such as text generation, summarization, translation, coding, idea development, planning and visual creation. The platform also provides support for generating sample code, explaining code and debugging in the field of programming, while enabling users to create visuals and illustrations based on text prompts. In addition, users’ conversation history is stored through the platform’s AI-powered chat service.
Easy Access from Mobile Devices
BARÜ AI can be accessed at “baruai.bartin.edu.tr”. Users who authenticate their identity through the BARÜ University Information Management System (ÜBYS) can use the platform in accordance with institutional security standards. The application can also be easily accessed on mobile devices. On Android devices, users can log in to BARÜ AI through their browser and select the “Add to Home Screen / Install App” option. On iOS devices, users can select “Add to Home Screen” after tapping the “Share” button. In this way, BARÜ staff can access and benefit from artificial intelligence technologies within a secure institutional framework.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya stated that, in line with BARÜ’s digital transformation vision, the University will continue its efforts to ensure the appropriate and responsible use of innovative technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, in academic and administrative processes. Rector Akkaya also thanked everyone who contributed to the development of the “BARÜ AI” platform.
