Graduation celebrations at BARÜ

Thousands of undergraduate and associate degree students at Bartın University (BARÜ) celebrated their graduation with a vibrant ceremony.
Bartın University (BARU) held its 2024-2025 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony with a magnificent event. Nearly 3,500 BARU students, who successfully completed their undergraduate and associate degrees from nine faculties and three vocational schools, were sent off to their professional careers.
Thousands of people shared in the excitement of graduation from BARÜ
More than 11,000 people from across Turkey attended the ceremony, held at the Kutlubey Campus graduation venue. BARÜ students celebrated their achievements with their families and friends, sharing in the joy of graduation.
The ceremony, which began with a traditional procession and featured a vibrant display of events, featured the opening speech delivered by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Selçuk Gümüş, acting for BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya.
Students who crowned their achievements with degrees were awarded
At the ceremony, which drew considerable attention, plaques and certificates of achievement were presented to the top three students from nine faculties and three vocational schools who achieved outstanding grade point averages by presenting plaques and certificates of achievement by the deans and directors of their respective academic units.
The top student of the 2024-2025 academic year was Muhammet Coşkun Geçer, a student in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Second place went to Zeynep Yılmaz Şeker, a student in the Department of Computer Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design. Third place went to Elif Kaplan, a student in the Department of Classroom Teaching in the Faculty of Education.
In the associate degree programs, the first place winner was Esra Temek from Bartın Vocational School Graphic Design Program, the second place winner was Yunus Caynak from Bartın Vocational School Computer Programming Program, and the third place winner was Emre Yağlı from Bartın Vocational School Computer Programming Program.
After the presentation of certificates of achievement and awards, thousands of BARÜ students recited the graduation oath in unison. Following the ceremony, the young BARÜ graduates celebrated their graduation by throwing their caps in the traditional cap-tossing ceremony, accompanied by a countdown.
