26 Mart 2026
During the events organized at Bartın University (BARÜ) as part of World Forestry Week, the importance of protecting natural resources and raising environmental awareness was emphasized.

Within the scope of World Forestry Week (March 16–21), various activities were organized by the Bartın Faculty of Forestry at Bartın University (BARÜ). In order to highlight the importance of forest ecosystems and encourage students to engage in sports activities, the “1st Orienteering Competition” and a “Table Tennis Tournament” were held. These well-attended events contributed to the development of team spirit among students and provided opportunities to spend time in close contact with nature. A seminar was also organized to raise environmental awareness and emphasize the importance of forestry activities.

The opening speech of the program, held at the Ağdacı Campus Conference Hall, was delivered by BARÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yafes Yıldız, while Hasan Keskin, Regional Director of Forestry in Zonguldak, participated as a speaker. Sharing his knowledge and experience in the field of forestry, Hasan Keskin first delivered a presentation. In his presentation, he provided detailed information on the forest assets of Türkiye, the region, and Bartın. He also offered important evaluations regarding sustainable forestry policies in Türkiye, the protection of forests, and the role of forests in combating climate change.

In the program, which was followed with great interest by students, Keskin drew attention to the strategic importance of forestry activities in today’s world where environmental risks are increasing, and advised young people to become environmentally conscious individuals.

The program concluded with a Q&A session.
