Individualized activity program to be developed for children for first time ever in Turkey

With the project of our university supported by TÜBİTAK, an individualized activity program will be developed for primary school children for the first time in Turkey.
 
The project prepared by Prof.Dr.Fatma Ünal, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, within the scope of the ARDEB-1001 "Sports Research" Call, opened within the framework of the cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, was entitled to be supported. With the project titled "Development and Evaluation of Parent-Teacher Supported Individualized Physical Activity Program for Primary School Students", it is aimed to develop an individualized activity program for primary school children for the first time in Turkey.

Competent scientists are involved in the project area, which will contribute to the realization of the policies on "sports, education, health, children, digital transformation" specified in the 11th Development Plan goals. In this context, In the project led by Prof. Dr. Fatma Ünal, Assoc. Dr. Beyza Aksu Dünya and Assist Prof. Dr. Yasemin Büyükşahin, Assoc. Dr. Ayça Genç and Assoc. Dr. Hatice Yıldız Durak will take place as a researcher. In the project, which will contribute to the training of qualified human resources in this field, 3 undergraduate and 3 graduate students will work as scholarship holders. The works within the scope of the project will continue uninterruptedly for 24 months.

Giving information about the project, Prof. Dr. Ünal said, “We aim to support the development of physical fitness, motor skills, social and psychological well-being of primary school students through physical activity and educational games and a parent-teacher supported mixed approach.”
