Faculty of Theology Established at BARU

The Faculty of Islamic Sciences at Bartın University (BARU) has been restructured and renamed the Faculty of Theology.
With Presidential Decree No. 9818, published in the Official Gazette on May 15, 2025, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at BARU was officially renamed the Faculty of Theology. The change aims to ensure consistency across higher education institutions in Türkiye offering education under the “Faculty of Islamic Sciences” title, fostering alignment in graduates, curricula, and institutional practices.
Department of Arabic Translation and Interpreting Opened
BARU continues to strengthen its academic portfolio with new programs and departments each year. In line with a decision by YÖK, the Department of Arabic Translation and Interpreting has been established under the Faculty of Letters and will admit students for the first time in the 2025–2026 academic year.
The five-year program includes a one-year Arabic Preparatory Program prior to undergraduate studies, enabling students to improve their language skills and begin their degree with a solid foundation.
