Bükrenaz Sert, a student at the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Bartın University (BARÜ), became a world champion by winning the gold medal at the FISU World University Wrestling Championship.
Students of Bartın University (BARÜ) continue to achieve new successes in national and international competitions. Bükrenaz Sert, a student in the Coaching Education Department of the Faculty of Sports Sciences at BARÜ, achieved a great success at the FISU World University Wrestling Championship held in Brazil. Competing in the 76 kg category, Bükrenaz Sert defeated all of her opponents. Thus, the BARÜ athlete won the gold medal and became the world champion in her weight class.
In addition, the Women's National Wrestling Team, which included BARÜ wrestler Bükrenaz Sert, won a total of 3 gold and 1 silver medals in the competitions and with the points they earned, became the runner-up in the world among 23 countries.
Congratulating the athletes and the technical staff on this achievement, Prof. Dr. Mutlu Türkmen, President of the Turkish University Sports Federation, stated, “Our Women's National Wrestling Team's achievement of becoming world runner-up has been a great source of pride for all of us.
