A cooperation protocol has been signed between Bartın University (BARÜ) and Akdaş Casting, a company that ranks among the leaders in its sector in Türkiye and is among the top ten in Europe, to carry out R&D activities in the field of carbon capture.

Signed by Bartın University (BARÜ) Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zahmakıran and Akdaş A.Ş. General Manager Mehmet Niyazi Akdaş, the protocol aims to develop innovative products through sustainable, efficient, and environmentally friendly methods.

As a significant example of university-industry collaboration, the protocol paves the way for new studies on a topic that has gained increasing importance in the scientific community due to rising global temperatures and carbon emission levels. Research efforts will focus on the development of cost-effective materials with sustainability at the core, followed by pilot-scale production.
