BARÜ's Research in Sports Sciences Receives Support from TÜBİTAK

Bartın University (BARÜ) will develop new technologies in sports sciences through TÜBİTAK-supported projects aimed at training qualified athletes and coaches.

The projects of the faculty members from the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Bartın University (BARÜ) were deemed worthy of support as a result of the TÜBİTAK "1001-Support Program for Scientific and Technological Research Projects" call titled "Sports Research." With two accepted projects, BARÜ will work on producing new knowledge in sports and related fields, developing innovative approaches, and presenting scientific data.

The project titled "As-Tohm: Development of a Smart System-Supported Model for Preparing Turkish Olympic Athletes," led by Prof. Dr. Bilal Demirhan, aims to increase the number of elite athletes representing Turkey in international sports organizations, particularly the Olympics, and the achievement of medals. The smart system-based application, developed with local and national resources, will analyze athletes' performances to determine the most suitable preparation processes tailored to each individual.

In the project under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Günay from Gazi University, the research team includes Prof. Dr. Kemal Polat from Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Prof. Dr. Mürsel Biçer from Necmettin Erbakan University, and from BARÜ, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayça Genç, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ender Eyuboğlu, Dr. Lecturer Serkan Aksu, Dr. Lecturer Hakan Öcal, Dr. Lecturer Recep Aydın, and Dr. Lecturer Bayram Akgül, who will contribute with their work.
