BARÜ’s National Weightlifter Kaan Kahriman Breaks Junior World Record

Kaan Kahriman, a student at Bartın University (BARÜ) Faculty of Sport Sciences and a national athlete, broke the junior world record in the snatch category at the World Weightlifting Championship, earning a bronze medal.

Competing in the 67 kg category at the World Weightlifting Championship, held in Manama, Bahrain, with a large turnout, Kaan Kahriman achieved a historic success. Representing Bartın University (BARÜ), he set a junior world record by lifting 148 kg in the snatch category, leaving his mark on the championship. The event featured 471 athletes from 92 countries.

The young national athlete's impressive performance earned him a bronze medal, as he lifted 175 kg in the clean and jerk and a total of 323 kg.
