1 Haziran 2026

The electric vehicle charging station, launched by Bartın University (BARÜ) with the aim of contributing to environmentally friendly transportation infrastructure, has begun operating.

Bartın University (BARÜ) continues to carry out environmentally friendly initiatives that add value to the future. In this context, an electric vehicle charging station was installed in the parking area next to the Student Life Center on Kutlubey Campus, within the scope of the protocol signed between BARÜ and Akmercan Elektrik Doğal Gaz Yatırımları. Implemented in line with the increasing use of electric vehicles across Türkiye, the project will meet an important need for BARÜ staff and students as well as electric vehicle users in the region.

The station includes one 120 kW DC fast charging unit with two output sockets and two 22 kW AC charging units, each with a single cabinet and two output sockets. Thanks to its modern infrastructure, the station allows four vehicles to be charged at the same time. Designed to provide service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the charging station enables users to charge their vehicles safely and easily at any time of the day.

Stating that the electric vehicle charging station will add value to the city and the region, BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya said that they will continue to support innovative efforts in the fields of clean energy and sustainable transportation, and expressed his hope that the station would be beneficial for its users.
