BARÜ Kutlubey Campus Granted the “Sports-Friendly Campus” Title

Bartın University (BARÜ) Kutlubey Campus has been awarded the “Sports-Friendly Campus” title by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in recognition of its efforts to promote a sustainable sports culture.
The evaluation process of the Sports-Friendly Campus Project, launched by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) to encourage a more active campus life and strengthen sports culture, has been completed. Following the assessments, Bartın University (BARÜ) Kutlubey Campus was granted the “Sports-Friendly Campus” title thanks to its sports facilities and healthy living initiatives that encourage students as well as academic and administrative staff to engage in regular physical activity.
Having integrated sports culture into its institutional structure, BARÜ has now officially certified its achievements in this field through the “Sports-Friendly Campus” title. With its wide range of sporting opportunities across different disciplines, modern facilities, and various social and sports activities, BARÜ makes significant contributions to promoting a healthy lifestyle culture.
The awards will be presented to universities that have qualified for the “Sports-Friendly Campus” title at a ceremony organized by YÖK on 17 June at the Congress Center of Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University.
Expressing his satisfaction with this achievement, BARÜ Rector Ahmet Akkaya stated:
“As Bartın University, alongside our educational activities, we carry out various initiatives to support our students and staff in maintaining a healthy, active, and sports-oriented lifestyle. We continue to strengthen sports culture across our campuses. We are delighted that these efforts have been recognized and crowned by YÖK with the ‘Sports-Friendly Campus’ title. I would like to thank our Sports-Friendly Campus Coordination Office and everyone who contributed with dedication to promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle culture.”
