BARÜ Takes Part in Western Black Sea Universities Union Meeting

Bartın University (BARÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya attended a meeting of the Western Black Sea Universities Union (BKÜB) hosted by Kocaeli University.
The Western Black Sea Universities Union (BKÜB) organized a rectors’ meeting aimed at strengthening academic and institutional relations among universities in the region. Hosted by Kocaeli University, the meeting was attended by Bartın University (BARÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cengiz Karaismailoğlu. Held at Kartepe Park Hotel, the meeting addressed TÜBİTAK projects, educational activities, and opportunities to develop joint initiatives.
During the meeting, participants discussed ways to enhance universities’ capacities for project development and applications, strengthen training and support mechanisms for academics, and expand opportunities for cooperation on joint TÜBİTAK projects. They also exchanged views on sharing project experience among regional universities, organizing joint activities, and drawing on existing expertise for future initiatives.
Rector Akkaya also noted during the meeting that BARÜ currently has more than 100 projects carried out with TÜBİTAK support and has received funding for 26 new projects over the past year.
