BARÜ Students Continue Their Success in TÜBİTAK 2209 Programs

Students of Bartın University (BARÜ) achieved significant success with 254 projects developed in a wide range of fields, from healthcare and artificial intelligence, under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A and 2209-B programs.
Bartın University (BARÜ) continues to strengthen its culture of scientific production through project-oriented initiatives. Within this framework, 254 projects prepared by BARÜ students were approved for funding under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A - Research Project Support Programme for Undergraduate Students and the TÜBİTAK 2209-B - Industry Oriented Research Project Support Programme for Undergraduate Students. Conducting studies in numerous fields, including healthcare, artificial intelligence, digital security and logistics, BARÜ students once again demonstrated their strong capacity for developing research projects.
Education and Healthcare Projects Received the Highest Number of Grants
With 52 projects supported by TÜBİTAK, the Faculty of Education ranked first among the faculties receiving the highest number of grants, followed by the Faculty of Health Sciences with 36 projects. The Faculty of Sciences contributed significantly to the achievement with 28 projects, the Bartın Faculty of Forestry with 25 projects, and the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design with 23 projects. In addition, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences received funding for 20 projects, the Faculty of Sports Sciences for 17 projects, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences for 16 projects, and the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences for nine projects.
A total of 11 projects from Ulus Vocational School, 10 projects from Bartın Health Services Vocational School and six projects from Bartın Vocational School were also approved for funding. In addition to these achievements, one student project from Bartın Health Services Vocational School received support under the TÜBİTAK 2209-B - Industry Oriented Research Project Support Programme for Undergraduate Students, which was launched by TÜBİTAK to strengthen university-industry cooperation.

BARÜ Rector Prof. Ahmet Akkaya stated that the achievement was one of the most tangible indicators of the University’s strong research culture. “We are highly pleased to see that the research and development activities carried out at our University have been strongly embraced by our students. The approval of 254 student projects for funding under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A and 2209-B programs demonstrates the productivity, research motivation and solution-oriented approach of our young people. I would like to thank the academic advisers who guided our students throughout this process, as well as all our students for their dedicated efforts, and I wish them continued success. I would also like to express my gratitude to TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın for the support provided in strengthening the research and project development culture among our young people,” said Rector Akkaya.
