BARÜ Rector Akkaya Introduced the University’s Opportunities on Akit TV’s “Eğitim Atlası” Program

Bartın University (BARÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya participated in the live broadcast of the program “Eğitim Atlası” on Akit TV, where he introduced the opportunities offered by the university to prospective students.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya was the guest of the live broadcast of “Eğitim Atlası” on Akit TV. During the program hosted by Murat Şahin, Rector Akkaya answered questions and provided information about the opportunities offered at BARÜ, particularly the newly opened academic programs.
Rector Akkaya shared details about many aspects of the university, including BARÜ’s physical infrastructure, educational programs, international education and internship opportunities, double major and minor options, and accredited programs.
Stating that BARÜ ranks highly in national and international rankings thanks to its education and research activities, Rector Akkaya said:
“As a young higher education institution, our momentum of success in international rankings continues to rise. According to the data of the Times Higher Education (THE) 2025 World University Rankings, one of the most well-known higher education ranking organizations in the world, we ranked 455th in the world and 2nd in Türkiye in the ‘Research Quality’ category. In field rankings, we achieved significant success by ranking 87th in the world and 1st in Türkiye in Research Quality in the ‘Education’ field, and 198th in the world and 3rd in Türkiye in Research Quality in the ‘Engineering’ field. With our quality education and qualified academic staff, we aim to move even higher in the rankings.”
Rector Akkaya also emphasized that BARÜ, as a future-oriented university, is taking innovative steps in education. In this context, he mentioned new programs that will accept students for the first time, including Artificial Intelligence Operator, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Telehealth Technician, and Smart Infrastructure Technician programs.
Highlighting the importance of communication, consultation and precaution, Rector Akkaya stated: “We work together by maintaining communication and consultation with both our students and our academic and administrative staff, and by taking necessary precautions. Because we share common dreams, goals and the real outcomes that come with them.”
Finally, addressing prospective students who are in the university preference period, Rector Akkaya said: “As Bartın University, we have all the facilities that our students may need within the campus. As a sports-friendly, nature-friendly and project-oriented university, we are excitedly waiting for our new students. I would like to say ‘welcome’ in advance to the students who will join our university.”
