BARÜ Ranked in U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings

Bartın University (BARÜ) ranked 1,742nd globally, 710th among Asian universities, and 42nd in Türkiye in the 2026–2027 Best Global Universities Rankings published by U.S. News & World Report.
The 2026–2027 Best Global Universities Rankings, prepared by U.S. News & World Report, one of the world's most respected higher education ranking organizations, have been released. Bartın University (BARÜ) achieved another success by being included in the ranking, which evaluates higher education institutions based on their academic research performance and international research reputation.
BARÜ continues its success in global rankings
The ranking was prepared using 13 indicators, including universities’ global and regional research reputation, publication output, citation impact, total citations, highly cited papers, international collaboration, and high-impact publication performance. According to the published results, BARÜ ranked 1,742nd in the world and 710th among Asian universities. Among Turkish universities included in the ranking, BARÜ placed 42nd and ranked 7th among state universities established after 2006.
Ranked 838th in the world in Materials Science and 1,276th in Engineering
BARÜ also achieved significant success in subject-specific evaluations. The university ranked 838th globally in the field of Materials Science and 1,276th in Engineering. These results further strengthened BARÜ’s position in prestigious international rankings through its high-quality work in engineering and related disciplines.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya stated that BARÜ’s inclusion in the Best Global Universities Rankings demonstrates the university’s scientific productivity and research-oriented development, and thanked everyone who contributed to this achievement.
