BARÜ Once Again Confirms Its Quality by Achieving Full Accreditation

Bartın University (BARÜ) has been granted full accreditation following the interim evaluation conducted under the Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP) administered by the Council of Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK).
Bartın University (BARÜ) has achieved another significant success through its quality assurance, education and training, and research and development activities. As a result of the interim evaluation conducted under the Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP) administered by the Council of Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK), BARÜ has successfully obtained full accreditation.
YÖKAK Grants Full Accreditation to BARÜ
Previously granted conditional accreditation for a period of two years under KAP, BARÜ continued its improvement efforts with determination. During this process, various improvement activities were carried out in the areas of quality assurance, education and training, research and development, social contribution, and the management system. In line with these developments, an interim evaluation was conducted by an independent evaluation team appointed by YÖKAK, which carried out a detailed review of the University. As a result of the evaluation, it was determined that BARÜ met the criteria established by YÖKAK, and the University was granted full accreditation. Thus, BARÜ’s institutional accreditation will remain valid until 2029.
BARÜ Has 31 Accredited Undergraduate and 8 Accredited Associate Degree Programs
In addition to its institutional accreditation efforts, BARÜ continues to carry out quality improvement activities for programs at its 9 faculties and 4 vocational schools. BARÜ currently has 31 accredited undergraduate programs accredited by MÜDEK, FEDEK, EPDAD, STAR, İAA, PEMDER, SPORAK, and HEPDAK. In addition, 8 associate degree programs at BARÜ have been accredited by MEDEK. In line with its vision of providing high-quality education, BARÜ continues its efforts to increase the number of accredited programs.

Commenting on BARÜ’s full accreditation process, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya said, “We continue to maintain our commitment to continuous improvement in all areas, particularly education and training and research and development activities. In this regard, we are very pleased that our University’s quality assurance efforts have resulted in full accreditation by YÖKAK. We will continue to build on this achievement, further advance our quality standards, and increase the number of accredited programs. With these thoughts, I would like to thank Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Zafer Ceylan, former Quality Coordinator Prof. Dr. Çetin Semerci, current Quality Coordinator Prof. Dr. Elif Karahan and her team, as well as everyone who contributed to this process, for their dedicated efforts.”
