BARÜ graduate Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu became the world champion.

National athlete Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu, a graduate of Bartın University (BARÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences, won the gold medal in the women's 68-kilo category at the 2023 World Wrestling Championship.

Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu, a graduate of Bartın University (BARÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences, who competed on the mat in the championship held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, achieved great success in the women's 68-kilo final competition. Buse, who had previously won two bronze medals in the world championships, won the gold medal by pining down Delgermaa Enkhsaikhan from Mongolia.

With this success, Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu became the first female wrestler after Yasemin Adar Yiğit to take first place in the world championships.

Buse also ranked in the top 5 in the organization in Belgrade and became the second BARÜ wrestler along with Evin Demirhan Yavuz, who received a quota for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
