BARU graduate and national athlete Hasret Bozkurt achieves a proud success

Hasret Bozkurt, a graduate of Bartın University (BARÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences and a national judoka, has been selected as the female athlete with the best finishing technique of the year by the International Judo Federation (IJF).

At the 2023 World Judo Championships held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, Bartın University (BARÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences graduate Hasret Bozkurt achieved a historic success. Competing in the 57kg category, Hasret Bozkurt won the match with a ippon against her opponent, world champion Brazilian Silva Rafaela. As a result of the voting conducted by the International Judo Federation for this finishing move, national judoka Hasret Bozkurt achieved significant success by receiving the "Best Finishing Technique of the Year 2023" award.
