BARÜ Collects Memories for the “July 15 Memorial Book”

Bartın University (BARÜ) will bring together the memories and lasting impressions of July 15 in a single volume through a memorial book to be prepared for the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Bartın University (BARÜ) is carrying out a meaningful project to mark the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day. Upon the proposal and with the support of BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya, the Digital Transformation Coordination Office has created a website where individuals can submit their memories of the night of July 15, 2016. Memories, eyewitness accounts, feelings, and thoughts concerning July 15 submitted through the website will be compiled in the “July 15 Memorial Book.”
The book aims to document the events of the night of July 15 through individual accounts and to pass on the collective memory of democracy, the national will, and the spirit of unity to future generations. Following an editorial review process, the memorial book will be published and added to BARÜ’s institutional memory as a permanent reference, preserving the shared memory of that night in written form.
In this context, members of the BARÜ community can submit their written contributions through the relevant link by July 17, 2026, and contribute to this project, which aims to leave a lasting memory for future generations.
